no elf on our shelf

I thought this would be the year that Porter would be old enough for "Elf on the Shelf" so we went and bought our elf, but I was going to wait until December to actually get him out--but of course Porter was having a fit for him, so we got him out of his box and I explained to Porter who he was and what he does (like watching over Porter and telling Santa when he's being good or bad).  We read the book, then I put our elf on the kitchen counter.
A few hours later, I found our poor elf in the trash can!  When I asked Porter why he would throw away our elf friend, he simply stated, "I don't want him telling Santa that I've been bad and to not bring me any toys"
So needless to say Porter does NOT like our elf :)  I've had to dig him out of the trash a few times!

happy 3 months bennett

slow. down. time.
sweet bennett is 3 months old today.
wanna know what she did to celebrate the occasion? rolled over. for the first time.
makes me happy and sad at the same time...my baby is growing so fast.

bennett's funny faces

love those chubby cheeks

 we're drooling a lot right now and lots of chewing on the hands (maybe teeth soon?  porter cut his first tooth right at 4 months...)

at 3 months, bennett:

is 13lbs 6oz (dr visit wednesday to get shots confirmed this exact number)
loves: her hands, paci, crib/crib mobile, bumbo seat (as does porter)
doesn't like: taking a bottle--she'll take it but thinks she needs to nurse right after {even if it is a 7 oz bottle--found this out at halftime of Saints game sunday night when the saints camp daycare text me that the bottle did NOT make her necessarily happy}
sleeps through the night--9-9:30pm to about 8-8:30am {I know I'm incredibly lucky}
can roll over {as demonstrated to me today} from front to back
back sleeper and loves being on her back--not such a fan of tummy time (which is odd considering she slept stomach down for her first 8 weeks. bad I know, but that's the only way she'd sleep.  I'm much happier that she changed her mind)
can hold her head up when on her stomach, but still likes the lazy way of seeing things from her back :)

I'm terribly behind on blogging; I've got about 10 posts with pictures that I need to do...maybe I'll be back next week (cause looking at my schedule I don't see anything happening before then!)
