fun october

we have had a BUSY October!  Last week, Porter was out of school for Parish fair day (so of course we went to the fair!  Then we went to two birthday parties that weekend!  And of course we've had some park time as well since the weather if finally cooling off (well I wouldn't say cooling off but it's below 95!)

Me and the kids met Ryan in Starkville for the LSU game a few weeks ago.  I hadn't been back in over a year!  We LOVE living in Louisiana, but we miss Starkville too!  Especially our friends there! 
I was NOT expecting it to be COLD, but it was a little chilly :)  We're still waiting on the cool "fall" weather here!

it's that time of year again...

The first day of school!!  Porter was so excited!  His first day of 4 year old pre school!
Too bad he had a really bad hair day ;)  He's getting a haircut tomorrow!

This is Porter's third (and last) year at his school!  I can't believe he will be going into Kindergarten next year!

We had a small birthday party for sweet Bennett this weekend!  I think Porter was more excited than she was! 

The party started right after nap time...NOT such a good idea...she was still a little tired!

The food--Bennett likes to eat!  Also I'm ashamed to admit, these are the FIRST pictures of her I've ever had printed!!  If you came in to our house before this weekend, you would have thought Porter was an only child!

one year.

Bennett is one year old!  She's actually one year and one day old (I'm always behind on things these days!)....I haven't even really had a chance to get some good one year pics, but here are a few :)

At one Bennett:

• is the happiest baby!  she is so laid back and easy going!
• LOVES to sleep (in her crib)--sleeps from about 8pm to 9:30 am! 
• takes 2 naps still--but they're short!  about 1 hour to 90 min each
• LOVES to EAT--is on all table food and her fave's are: eggs, mac and cheese, bananas, rice, chicken, cheese, I could go on and on and on :)
• says "dada" and "bye bye"
• has 7 teeth 
• weened herself about 2 weeks ago!  
• loves bath time and the water
• will stand all day and has taken a total of about 7 steps, but nas no real interest in walking
• crawls really fast :)
• loves to be outside
• blows kisses
• repeats everything we do
• shakes her finger at you and says "no no no no" if we try and correct her
• she's bossy (see above)
• loves "running" around with porter
• is the sweetest cutest little thing ever and we can't believe she's already ONE!

birthday cake...

bennett will be one in three days!!  Ryan had his birthday last week, which we celebrated with some red velvet cake (yummy!).  I threw away the leftover cake, and set it on top of our garbage can...I was on the phone and when I realized Bennett wasn't playing in the living room anymore, I went looking and THIS is what I found!  Needless to say, Bennett knows what to do with birthday cake!

After Porter's birthday weekend, we decided at the last minute (read: the night before) to go to the beach for a couple of days!  It was a quick (but we did end up staying an extra night!) trip, and we had so much fun!  We went to Pensacola (we normally go to Destin) and could not have been more happy!  It was NOT crowded at all, the beaches/water were beautiful,  and the place we stayed had an awesome kids pool!  We cannot wait to go back to the beach in a few weeks!!
