Terrible Two's...at 14 months????

What has happened to my sweet boy?? Porter has turned a little difficult lately! Could be a combination of terrible diaper rash (????) a bunch of back teeth coming in, and the move (I think he's a little out of his element). Not to mention it's been so HOT outside, we've rarely been going outside to play , so he's probably a little stir crazy!

Needless to say I hope this stage passes....SOON! We now have daily fits, and if Porter doesn't have something in his hands when it starts he quickly finds something to pick up so he can slam it down! It was entertaining the first few times to see him in full meltdown mode, but not so much now! Most of these fits revolve around when he can't get something he wants or it's taken away from him (like the trash can top, phone, keys, sunglasses, our drinks, etc.) or when I have to fish something out of his mouth that's not supposed to be there!

BUT, he's still my sweet boy when he wakes up and for most of the day!

Here's some pics from today playing (or at least watching the other kids play) at McDonalds...It was Porter's first trip to the golden arches and first chicken nuggets--I think he liked them better than the food I usually fix him for lunch! With everything packed up now for the move tomorrow, we'll probably have to eat there again tomorrow (lucky Porter)!

Today is Ryan's 30th Birthday!!

We went out to eat to celebrate with friends on Saturday and had a great time!

But sadly I have no pics!!

No new toys, Please!

We're getting ready to move so I've been slowly packing the last week or so to make the move a little easier with Porter. Well I had empty boxes all over the living room last week and Porter climbed in one of the boxes and sat down!! He was so cute and was having the best time just sitting in the box! He thinks empty boxes are much more fun than toys anyway, which is good because almost all of his toys are packed up!

On another note, I left my camera charger in Pittsburgh so no new pictures =( All pics have to be taken during the day time with good light so I can get them on my cell phone!

I do have some good ones on my camera but it won't even turn on so I can download them =(

Hopefully I'll get the charger back soon (after the move) and will have lots of new pics of Porter to post!

I'm also trying to get his new trick on video, and I'll post that as well...the only thing is when Porter sees the video camera he wants to grab it, NOT show off any new trick!! ha!

Porter has fully recovered from all of his shots! He is back 100%!!

We went downtown today for "Christmas in July" and saw Santa as we were walking around, sadly I didn't have my camera or my phone (which takes GREAT pictures) but Ryan had his so we got some pics with Porter & Santa (even if they aren't that great)!

Porter went right to "Santa" and just smiled and laughed at him!!

Poor Baby

Porter had his year check up on Wednesday and had FIVE shots! Well as they were going through the spill about giving him tylenol when we got home, and if he runs fever for this long, or if it gets so high, to call the Doctor, and I'm thinking and even said "Porter has done great with all of his shots and you'd never even know he had shots!"

The Green "blankie" has not left his side since this morning!

WELL...wrong answer this time!! Poor thing has been running fever and just feels plain crappy since yesterday! It started last night when we were out to dinner, I should have known something was up when Porter didn't want to eat and just wanted to be held!!

Notice the fork in his hand--it is one of his favorite things and he just wanted to hold it and his blankie as he was laying down on the couch =) sweet thing

The good side (if there is one) is that he's become my "baby" again! He wants to be held and rocked and has been so "cuddly"--Things I was sadly missing since now he HATES to be held or rocked! Ryan is out of town so when we got home last night from dinner, I rocked him to sleep for at least 40 minutes--I can't even remember the last time that happened!!

You'll also notice he has TWO passies--he threw a fit when I tried to take one of them away!

Baby Lane came to visit yesterday and I was just telling Sarah (her mom) and Ryan how much I missed when Porter was that small and let me rock him and hold him!! Well I guess I got my wish, I just wish Porter didn't feel so bad!!!

He's slowly perking up since these pictures were taken, so I'm thinking he'll be back to his old independent self tomorrow ;)

Porter- 13.5 months

What Porter is up to these days:

• Eats everything we eat (so nice)


• Loves (food): cheese, english peas (weird because he HATED this baby food), pancakes, eggs, ANY kind of spaghetti or noodles (gets that from mommy;)), potatoes (doesn't get that from mommy!), chicken, spaghetti o's, carrots and any kind of cookie =)


• Dislikes (food): won't eat some veggies (sometimes), isn't really a fan of green beans but that's about it--also for some weird reason about every fourth day REFUSES to drink milk--but 75% of the time drinks it down as fast as he can!!


• Tries to talk and says "mama" (usually only when he's tired or whiney and wants me!), "dada", "ball", "dog" (but actually comes out more like "gaw" as he gets excited and points to any dog), "no" and says occasionally "eat", "yes", and tries to say "thank you" whenever I hand something to him---this is funny because for awhile now he has loved to grab anything and bring to us and I always say "THANK YOU" to him and I guess I must raise my voice a few octaves when I do it because now whenver we hand him something he raises his voice real high and mumbles "daa dau" or something like that ;)


• will repeat words with me, but gets bored with this quickly--he is VERY active and always running around


• speaking of eating, now runs to the high chair and tries to climb up in it (especially in the morning)


• understand what most things are (car, dog, eat, juice, cookie, shoes, diaper, window, book, chair) and will go get things when you ask him


• Understands when I say "Daddy's home" and runs to the window--so sweet and cute!!


• Recognizes Ryan's car--just this morning Ryan had to go do some stuff at work so me and Porter decided to go walk at the track and let Porter play in the grass, so when we were done we walked across the street to Ryan's office and as soon as Porter saw Ryan's car (it was the only one in the lot) he got so excited in his stroller and started kicking and smiling and pointing, then started crying when we went past it to go inside!!


• has started climbing (UGH!!) and has climbed up on the couch once or twice! No falls off of it yet but I know they're coming!!!


• has become reattached to passy (double UGH!!)--with us being gone for a week and then all the traveling, he is now attached to it more than he ever was--we're finally back to not having it as much during the day but he is always looking for it! I think he knows now that it CAN be taken away!
• loves baths and usually throws a fit when it's time to get out

• loves the park and outside and ALWAYS throws a fit when it's time to leave/go inside!


• can climb stairs just as fast as we can--but goes down so slow and carefully and always wants to do it himself!


• just recently became really really attached to his green and brown elephant blanket--and always wants to hold it when he sleeps (it is so sweet!)


• LOVES to dance!! and dances to any music that comes on TV especially on commercials--I really need to get this on video to post and share!! It is HILARIOUS!!


• Favorite toys: his stuffed football (he calls in "baw-baw"--he really had saying ball down so I was telling him that it was a "FOOT-BALL" & now he calls it "baw-baw", also ANY balls, his baseball tee set, pull along puppy, riding zebra, Porter the puppy chair, and pretty much anything of ours he can get his hands on (keys, cell phone, remote, etc)


• Also LOVESto sleep (second to eating this is probably his favorite thing to do)--I know all mother's out there will be jealous of this one--NO LIE he goes down around 7 at the latest and I have to wake him up in the morning, usually at 10am!! And he still takes one LONG nap in the middle of the day or two small ones! He just loves his crib!! I actually don't think he goes to sleep when I lay him down but just plays for a little while before sleep and I'm convinced he must wake up in the middle of the night and play too! But when he is awake he is going full speed 90 mph all day!!


• weighs about 21 or 22 pounds--hasn't gained much weight from 9 mos (I think because once he started walking he became soooo active) and I have NO idea on height!!

That's about all I can think of now! We're going to the Dr. Wednesday for his one year check up (LATE) and shots so I'll have a more accurate weight, height then!!

What a DIFFERENCE!

Last October, Porter and I flew to Pittsburgh to go to the MSU/WVU game and visit Ryan's family...So when we went back to Pittsburgh last month, I took Porter's picture in the same spots as I had taken his picture just 8 months before, and WOW what a difference!!

He is growing so fast and becoming such a little boy!

Mom, I'm HUNGRY!!

Every morning now when I go wake Porter up (YES, that's right I have to WAKE HIM UP!), he heads straight to the high chair and tries to climb up it!! He also does this ALL during the day whenever he wants a snack! It is too funny!

Sedona

The City of Sedona

While we were visiting my parents in Phoenix, my mom, Ryan and I drove to Sedona, AZ to spend the day. It was so beautiful, but sooo HOT--just like everywhere else in Arizona in the summer! We (window!) shopped at The Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village (pronounced Ta-lackey-packey) and took a jeep ride around Sedona and got to get a close view of all the rock formations...we had a blast!

One funny story from our day: While at Tlaquepaque, we decided to go eat at one of the restaurants there (Oak Creek Pub & Brewery), and the special was a Buffalo burger with onions and Bleu cheese crumbles--well that sounded good to me so me and Ryan got the special, which I was thinking was a "buffalo" seasoned (ham)burger since it had bleu cheese on it--NO! it was a Burger of Buffalo meat!! UGH!! Needless to say I went hungry! Ryan ate all of his though! Apparently buffalo meat is common around that area!!

This is the ONLY McDonalds with non "golden" arches--the City of Sedona has a code that all buildings must be the color of the rocks! Apparently McDonalds spent over $1 Million dollars fighting it before settling on TEAL Arches!

While we were in Phoenix we rented a pontoon boat and spent the day at a nearby lake...as you can see Porter LOVED it! He especially loved "driving" the boat!
